Former Maine-Endwell High School basketball star Kaety L’Amoreaux recently competed for Team USA.
L’Amoreaux was a member of the USA Basketball FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup team that competed in Xiong’an, China earlier this month. The squad advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Cup before getting eliminated.
“It’s like crazy to put it all in perspective and so many people brought that up to me,” said L’Amoreaux. “I went from playing at Maine-Endwell…in Homer Brink Elementary School for a bunch of games and then I went and played in China for Team USA.”
She continued: “So it’s just amazing to get to represent Maine-Endwell in that sense. So it’s something I wouldn’t trade for the world, getting to represent that community and everyone that supported me.”
L’Amoreaux is currently preparing for her junior season at Division I Fairfield University. She was recently named to the All-MAAC Preseason First Team. Fairfield has won the MAAC and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in each of L’Amoreaux’s first two seasons with the Stags.
Prior to joining Fairfield, L’Amoreaux was a superstar at Maine-Endwell where she earned all-state honors and scored over 1,000 career points.
