Irish aviation investor Irelandia is backing its seventh airline, Alma Air, which plans to bring seaplanes back to Colombia for the first time in 70 years. Irelandia, which was founded by Declan Ryan, has previously invested in Viva, a low-fare Colombian airline, as well as five other airlines including Ryanair in Europe and Tiger Airways in Asia. It is also a minority shareholder in Avianca, the largest airline in Colombia and the second-oldest active airline in the world.
