On Tuesday, a creditors’ meeting was held for Sonder Hospitality Ireland Limited but it was largely a box-ticking exercise. The once high-flying US short-term letting company, which styled itself as a luxury Airbnb, suddenly collapsed into bankruptcy earlier this month after hotel chain Marriott pulled its support. A domino effect followed, with Sonder shutting down locations in North America and Europe and administrators appointed to its UK companies, which was where much of its EMEA business was managed from.
